Enlightened men debating in white shirts
In the wake of the French revolution, men from the Directory era such as Bonaparte, Chateaubriand, Talleyrand and even Victor Hugo enlivened the Hôtel with their tumultuous ideas. The compelling history of the building is the source of inspiration for Charles Beigbeder's latest project. Intimately convinced that the white shirt is an everlasting symbol of style, he appoints Cécile Faucheur as Artistic Director in 2017. Searching for inspiration amongst the forgotten details of the past, the designer merges heritage with modernity, authenticity with singularity. The Bourrienne shirt seems effortless, but every collar, bib, cuff, and gather, is carefully designed. Each detail is filled with creativity, which makes the brand so intriguing.
